Does your bedroom need a facelift? Maybe you’re dying to redecorate, but you don’t have the time or the money to go the whole hog. Don’t worry, help is at hand. There are lots of ways you can give your bedroom a new look without having to do a complete overhaul. Here are some of them.
Get new bedding
A really simple way to change how your bedroom looks is to get new beddings. Adding a new duvet cover and pillowcases to your bed can transform it completely, and if the bed is the main focal point in the room then the whole room is going to benefit. Consider switching to a different palette if you can – if you usually have muted tones, why not add a splash of colour this time? You could also switch to a different fabric, or why not add a throw and some cushions? For inspiration, take a look at some of Celestine & Co’s bedding products. Our Lavender King Polyester Comforters, for example, are a stylish way to dress up your bed.
Change your soft furnishings
Adding a sumptuous rug to your bedroom floor will not only bring relief to your feet, it will also create an entirely new focal point in the room. With the right rug, you can change the feel of the room, whether you want it to look luxurious or cosy. The best place for your new rug is undoubtedly by your bed, so your feet have something nice to land on in the mornings.
Move your furniture
This is by far the best way to change the look of your bedroom, and best of all it is free. All you need to do is enlist the help of a friend or family member to move heavier items. To start with, change the orientation of your bed and align the rest of the furniture around it. Try out different angles and alignments until you’re happy.
If changing the position of your furniture isn’t enough for you, how about giving it a mini makeover instead? Try fitting your drawers with brand new handles or knobs. Or, change the look of dressers and chests by painting them or covering them with decorative wallpaper. The possibilities are endless.
Buy a new headboard
A great way to change the feel of any bedroom is simply to change the headboard of your bed. Choose something fancy to create a real centrepiece. Change the look of the room by going ultra-modern, or choose something carved in wood for a rustic feel.
Get creative with your windows
When it comes to giving your room a makeover, your windows should not be ignored. Adding new curtains can really give the room a lift and bring a look together. Go for something completely different to what you already have, whether it’s changing your curtains for a modern blind, or adding a decorative valance. Don’t forget to pay attention to the fabric you use – velvet and satin give a glamourous effect, whilst cotton can look crisp and clean.
Add some greenery
Head to your local garden centre and choose some elegant house plants to dot around your room. Don’t forget to put them in pretty pots and vases while you’re at it. Having more plants in your room will give it a calm, serene feel and will also improve your air quality. What’s not to love?
